Changes in Transversus Abdominis Muscle Thickness, Low Back Pain, and Standing Balance after Foam Roller Exercise in Female Adults: A Randomized Controlled Trial
نویسندگان
چکیده
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to compare transversus abdominis muscle thickness and exercise performance before after foam roller (FRex). Methods: This a randomized controlled trial (RCT). Twenty-four adult female subjects were randomly divided into two groups: (1) an intervention group that underwent FRex, (2) control remained in the supine position for same period. Transversus thickness, modified Star Excursion Balance Test (mSEBT) score, degree back pain experienced during daily work measured each using visual analog scale (VAS), within-group comparison conducted value. amount change calculated, correlation between measurement item examined. Results: Pre-intervention post-intervention comparisons revealed significantly greater values lower fiber mSEBT scores, low intervention. A moderate negative found changes VAS scores scores. Moreover, positive noted scores. Conclusions: These results suggest FRex may be beneficial preventing improving balance.

[Purpose] This study compared the effectiveness of stabilization and McKenzie exercises on pain, disability, and thickness of the transverse abdominis and multifidus muscles in patients with nonspecific chronic low back pain. [Subjects] Thirty patients were randomly assigned into two groups: the McKenzie and stabilization exercise groups. [Methods] Before and after intervention, pain, disabilit...
متن کاملSmall Ball Exercise Program for Patients With Chronic Nonspecific Low Back Pain: A Randomized Clinical Trial
Purpose: Low back pain (LBP) is one of the main causes of disability in adults. Approximately 80% of LBPs lead to chronic nonspecific low back pain (CNSLBP). Damages to back region may be due to weak musculoskeletal structure, impaired muscle or joint flexibility, changes in muscle tone, and reduced strength and endurance. A set of exercises by small ball was designed by the corresponding and f...
متن کاملA randomized controlled trial to determine the effect of spinal stabilization exercise intervention based on pain level and standing balance differences in patients with low back pain
BACKGROUND A number of studies have evaluated exercise interventions compared with other treatment strategies for subjects with recurrent low back pain (LBP); however, subject pain level and balance were not carefully considered. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of spinal stabilization exercises (SSE) for managing pain and increasing balance strategy changes follow...
متن کاملTransversus Abdominis Plane Block in the Management of Acute Postoperative Pain Syndrome after Caesarean Section: A Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial.
BACKGROUND The international literature is unclear regarding the analgesic efficacy of the transversus abdominis plane block (TAPB) after a Caesarean section (CS). OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to determine whether a correctly performed ultrasound-guided TAPB (USG-TAPB) could provide better control of acute postoperative pain during the first 72 hours after CS and if it could provide a...
